Nadia Curto Barolo Arborina 2020
Arborina is an extraordinary south-facing vineyard in La Morra at Annunziata. From here Nadia produces a fascinating Barolo with good concentration and a modernist philosophy.
On the nose aromas of wild raspberry, violets and ethereal notes, with firm tannins that need some time. It combines energetic traits with softer, almost velvety notes such as fragrant eucalyptus and floral notes that develop beautifully in the long finish.
Nadia is a talented winemaker from La Morra in the middle of the Barolo production area. She cultivates and makes wine together with her father Marco 4 hectares of vineyards in the hamlet of l'Annunziata, a village of 250 souls that has 25 wineries! Nadia arrived at the winery in 1998 after dedicating herself to something else, but the passion became overwhelming so much so that since 2002 she decided to dedicate herself to the family business.
The style of production is totally artisanal and natural: only natural manure is used in the field for the soil, zero pesticides or herbicides, and the main work is all manual. "Even in the winery we ferment with wild yeasts, we don't filter or clarify the wines and we don't add anything else to the grapes except a little sulfites."
Nadia produces: Dolcetto, Barbera, a stupendous Freisa and Nebbiolo as well as the two Barolos, the classic "La Foia" and the Cru "Arborina", destined in time to be more and more the object of desire for all natural Barolo enthusiasts.
